Joe Hart
Charles Joseph John Hart more famously known as “Joe” Hart is the prodigal keeper from Manchester City and the official keeper for England in the 2010 FIFA world cup to be held in South Africa. Joe was born on April 19th of 1987, making him a mere 23 years old, a youth player compared to many keepers of his competency in this game.
Joe Hart was born in Shrewsbury, a simple town in England. Joe stayed and studied in Shrewsbury for all of his childhood days. In his 11th year of studies he joined the travelled with the local team of his city, Shrewsbury town where Joe is from, to Exeter city. Although this was the first actual match he had been to he did not get a chance to play the match and had to remain a substitute. Six weeks before his 16th birthday Joe got a chance to play in an actual football match, the match was between Rochdale and Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury won the match and was the final victory they needed to win the season. This victory led the team to be relegated into the conference, where Joe made his actual debut as a keeper. He played brilliantly during the game between Gravesend making many people feel his strong presence and abilities as a good goal keeper. Sadly this fine run was short lived as the next match against Morecambe was a loss of 3-0, after this Joe didn’t play football for almost a year. The rest of the season was quite dim as Joe conceded 4 goals in 6 matches, leading to him getting replaced as the keeper of choice for the team by Scott Howie.
Whatever the past was Hart left it all behind at the start of the 05-06 season, he made it back to the first team, now wearing the no.1 jersey and played a brilliant season of 46 matches. In this span of 46 matches he conceded only 51 goals, this may seem like a lot but he was still applauded for his great keeping skills. This was also the year Joe made it to the England under-19 team, he played against Poland as a substitute and performed his duties excellently. For his great playing Hart was announced as the top League Two player in the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month Awards for January 2006 as well as the best goal keeper in the League Two for the year 2005-2006.
The year 2006 changed Joe’s future completely, this was the year he was signed by Manchester City for a sum of £600,000. He proved his worth in the match against Sheffield United on 14th October 2006, he kept a clean sheet, besides his brilliant playing the game ended in a draw.
In the season of 2007 Joe was given on loan to Tranmere Rovers and then Blackpool, His brilliant play in both the teams helped them win many matches and helped them a great deal. He won a permanent place in the England team due to his amazing performance on June 2008 against Trinidad and Tobago, although he was replaced by Given as the keeper of choice for the England team Joe played amazingly. Hart spent the summer of 2009 playing for England’s Under 21s in the European Championships in Sweden. The dramatic penalty shoot-out in the semi final saw Joe save a couple of goals, and score one, but in the process he earned a yellow card, his second of the tournament, This meant he had to sit out the final. He was also given on loan to Birmingham city where he earned most of his fame and glory including a 12-match unbeaten run in the top division.
